Grattis på födelsedagen, Clark Ashton Smith!

Idag fyller Clark Ashton Smith år, och det vill vi som ligger bakom rollspelet Svärd & Svartkonst givetvis uppmärksamma. Tillsammans med Robert E Howard och HP Lovecraft brukar Clark Ashton Smith benämnas som de tre kungarna av Weird Tales. Men till skillnad från Howards Conan så har Smiths hjältar aldrig fått några filmer med Arnold Schwarzenegger i huvudrollen. Smiths mythosväsen, Tsathoggua, har inte blivit ett populärkulturellt fenomen som Lovecrafts Cthulhu.

Någon enstaka Smith-berättelse finns i översättning (exempelvis "Ubbo-Sathla" i Necronomicon: De Döda Namens Bok av Sam J. Lundwall, 1995), men han är i princip okänd för den svenska publiken. Det är tråkigt, eftersom många av Smiths berättelser är utmärkta och förtjänar en större läsekrets.

Imorgon kommer vi därför att bjuda på ett nytt blogginlägg med en liten hommage till CAS! Det blir något som kan användas i Svärd & Svartkonst eller andra rollspel av OSR-typ.
